The Central Peace Health Centre maintains strict compliance with the Alberta Health Information Act.

Your health information is your business, whether it be the collection of email addresses, the use of electronic prescriptions, or any of the other collection, retention, and distribution of health information tasks that a medical clinic performs on a daily basis.

COLLECTION of EMAIL ADDRESSES:

When an email is supplied to the clinic that is ‘shared’ with someone else (i.e. both spouses use a common email address), please note that any secure messaging of health information and/or test results that is sent to the supplied email address may be seen by whoever you share your email address with.

It is for this reason that the clinic encourages each adult patient to have their own individual personal email address, if at all possible.

USE of ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTIONS:

No more paper! Today, we usually send your prescriptions ELECTRONICALLY directly to the pharmacy of your choice via our secure systems.

Most times, you will NOT receive a paper copy of your prescription to take to the pharmacy anymore.
